September Weather

Well, it's Friday again and I'm sitting here at the office wondering if the second hurricane (in as many weeks) headed this way will run right through here or not. Charley didn't, will Frances? I think we will be ok but what will other sections of Florida be like after this? Charley's devastation was heartbreaking and awesome in the number effected. Frances is twice the size of Charley. If the storm holds up long enough to hit the coast I wonder what will be said of labor day 2004. September brings so many different things.

Today the state feels lighter than it has in a while. A record number of people evacuated (over 2 million) and plenty of them are headed out of the state (slowly). We were told that Charley was going to swirl right up the mouth of Tampa Bay and push over and flood anything and everything in it's path. To avoid the storm, many people headed East towards Orlando, the eventual direct path of the storm. This time folks are not taking a chance, they're buggin out. Michelle sent an e-mail saying the safest place from the storm, if you live in Florida, is in Nebraska.

Next week, after the storm and after the computers are restarted, I wonder what the state will look like? Still here certainly. Knocked over and under water? Maybe a little. Knocked out? No way!
